Centre for Entrepreneurship Development

The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development empowers women and girls by providing skill-oriented training programs in diverse vocations. These trainings have become viable livelihood opportunities, enabling women to achieve financial independence despite mobility restrictions and limited access to economic resources. By equipping them with marketable skills, we are foster self-reliance, confidence, and a pathway to sustainable livelihoods.

Through vocational training centres (Stitching tailoring, Beauty culture services, and computer education hubs, GNK equips women and youth with market-relevant skills, preparing them for dignified livelihood opportunities and greater participation in today’s digital world.

Health Attendant Training Programme

Building compassionate caregivers with skills, confidence and purpose.

Care Work is fast emerging as a community need and employment/livelihood avenue today. Gram Niyojan Kendra’s Health Attendant Training Programme is designed to prepare youth, especially women, for a dignified and meaningful career in patient and elderly care. The programme combines classroom-based training at GNK centres, delivered by qualified medical professionals, with one-month hands-on practical training in multi-specialty hospitals, ensuring strong theoretical knowledge as well as real-world caregiving experience.

Centre-Based Training (Foundation Learning)

At the training centre, participants are introduced to the core principles of caregiving and professional conduct. Special emphasis is placed on elderly care, post-operative support, mobility assistance, prevention of bed sores, handling of fractures, use of assistive devices, and physiotherapeutic support. Training also includes soft skills, communication, counselling basics, ethics, and professional behaviour, enabling trainees to work with confidence and dignity. Training is provided by medical professionals, psychologists and senior clinicians including Geriatric specialists.

Curriculum Includes:

  • Building Empathy for dealing with patients and their care givers
  • Emotional balance and professional boundaries
  • Essential aspects of patient care, including hygiene, mobility assistance and maintaining a calm, respectful environment
  • Basics of nutrition support for patients and for elderly
  • Basic orientation on anatomy and physiology to understand how the human body functions
  • First aid and emergency response for critical situations.

Hospital-Based Practical Training (Hands-On Experience)

Following centre-based learning, trainees undergo structured practical training in multi-specialty hospitals, where they apply their skills under professional supervision. During this phase, trainees gain exposure to hospital systems, departments and patient care workflows. This hospital training ensures that trainees are job-ready, confident in handling real patients, and familiar with professional healthcare environments. Preparing for Dignified Livelihoods by integrating technical skills with empathy, discipline and ethical caregiving practices, the Health Attendant Training Programme prepares participants for employment in elderly care, home-based patient care and healthcare institutions. The programme not only builds employability but also instils a sense of purpose, respect and social value in caregiving work.

At Hospital trainees learn the following:

  • Safe patient handling and positioning
  • Mobility support and fall prevention,
  • Hospitalised patient care, oxygen support, hygiene in clinical settings and infection prevention
  • Medical documentation, consent processes.
  • Exposure to biomedical waste management,
  • Protocol for emergency response in hospital
