Education for Social Transformation

Samriddhi Bal Vidya Mandir a Symbol of Hope and Dignity

Established in 2003, Samriddhi Bal Vidya Mandir Madhyamik Vidyalaya was founded as a beacon of hope for children from marginalized and vulnerable communities, many of whom were at risk of being trafficked for prostitution by their own families and communities.

Today, the school has grown into a recognized secondary institution under the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education, providing quality education from Grades 1 to 10. Most of the children belong to marginalized backgrounds, breaking cycles of exploitation through the power of education and opportunity.

Programme Objectives

    • Protect girls and children from trafficking, exploitation and harmful traditional practices.
    • Ensure access to quality education and prevent school dropouts among children from marginalised communities.
    • Provide early childhood care and learning support through Balwadi centres to build strong foundations.
    • Strengthen community awareness and vigilance on child rights, safety and education.
    • Encourage families to support girls’ education, including completion of secondary and high school.

Milestones

    • Young children from highly marginalised communities are supported through the Balwadi Centre, receiving early learning, care and a safe foundation for formal schooling.
    • Currently 339 children, including 121 girls are enrolled at Samriddhi Bal Vidya Mandir, accessing quality education from primary to secondary level in a protective and supportive environment.
    • Community-based outreach, children’s groups and reading corners have strengthened awareness on child rights, education and protection from exploitation.
    • Families and frontline workers are actively engaged, creating a stronger safety and education ecosystem for girls and children in Roopwas.

Community Initiatives on Education

Various community level initiatives are being implemented at Bharatpur to promote education for children and adolescents.

The Balwadi centre at Piprehta village provides young children with a safe space for early learning, basic nutrition and emotional care, as strong foundations before entering formal schooling.

Reading corners and children’s groups have been created across villages to encourage reading habits, learning and discussion on child rights. Regular interactions with children focus on education rights, safety, and protection from exploitation, raising awareness of govt. entitlements and opportunities.

Promoting community access to social entitlements as well as linkage with higher education opportunities.

Testimonies from Students and Families

By attending extra classes I could clarify many doubts. Tips on how to prepare for examinations gave me confidence and was instrumental in helping me become a top scorer, obtaining 501 marks out of 600.

Today I am able to live with dignity due to the support provided by Samridhhi team who helped me to escape from a drunken husband. They also helped in getting the documents from my husband and enrolled my daughter in Samridhi school. It is because of them that both me and my daughter can atleast think of a better future.

Early Childcare and Education in Urban Slums of Ghaziabad

Strengthening Early Learning and Expanding Education Opportunities for Urban Children and Girls in the urban settlements of Ghaziabad, Gram Niyojan Kendra in collaboration with Micromatic Grinding Technologies, under its CSR support runs community-based Balwadi Centres that provide children aged 3–6 years with safe spaces for early education, nutrition support, growth monitoring and emotional care.

These centres help children develop early language, learning and social skills, preparing them for smooth entry into formal schooling and building a strong educational foundation for the future. Alongside children’s development, mothers and adolescents participate in health awareness and life skills sessions, helping families create supportive learning environments at home.

A key education-focused component of the programme is supporting adolescent girls who are often forced to discontinue studies after Class 12 due to financial challenges or family pressure. Through sustained family counselling and financial assistance, GNK helps re-enrol these girls into colleges and fully supports their admission, tuition and education expenses. This support enables girls to continue higher education, regain confidence and pursue career aspirations with dignity and independence.

Voices from the Community

“Meri beti Kittu ab roz Balwadi jaati hai aur ghar aakar naye shabd aur kavita sunaati hai. Uski aadatein aur knowledge dono badal gaye hain.”
(Now my daughter regularly attends the Balwadi and comes home sharing new words and poems. Her habits and knowledge have both improved.)

Rani, Kashiram Colony, Ghaziabad

After completing Class 12, Saloni had to stay at home due to family concerns about her safety. Gradually, her dreams began to fade. Through regular counselling by GNK–MGT staff, her parents began to see education as a pathway to independence and security. With programme support, Saloni was enrolled in Ram Chameli Chaddha Vishvas College, with all education expenses covered. Today she is pursuing graduation and dreams of becoming a lawyer, confidently rebuilding her future.
