Mr. N.K. Dhand graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, USA in 1965 and returned to India in 1967.
In 1973 he founded Micromatic Grinding Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (MGT), Ghaziabad & Bangalore & is presently its Executive Chairman www.micromaticgrinding.com. He is also a founding member of Micromatic Machine Tools Pvt. Ltd.-MMT in 1980. MMT is the largest Machine Tools marketing organisation in India, being the sole sales & after sales arm of Ace Micromatic Group of companies www.acemicromatic.net. He is also a Director of TMI- Toyoda Micromatic Machinery India Pvt. Ltd., established in 2008 as a JV between MGT & JTEKT Japan. Besides, he has served as President IMTMA (Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association) & President of GMA (Ghaziabad Management Association) in the past.
Currently he is also the Chairman of Gram Niyojan Kendra www.gramniyojan.org, an NGO established in Ghaziabad since 1977.
Prof (Dr.) Jai Prakash Dubey, retired from Department of Continuing Education and Extension in January, 2025. As Head of the Department and Dean Faculty of Social Sciences (2016-2018) he designed the innovative programme of Five Year integrated Journalism and is credited with the establishment of the institution of Delhi School of Journalism (DSJ) in 2017. He served as the founding Honorary Director of DSJ.
He was also instrumental in establishing of the Institute of Cyber Security and Law in 2017. He is credited with development of short term courses like Volunteer Management and Radio Broadcasting. Prof. Dubey specializes in ‘extension and communication’ besides being an ardent advocate of educational reform through the experiments in lifelong learning.
As Chairperson Standing Committee on admission of Delhi University (2016-17), and Standing Committee on Students, he introduced complete online admission process and enabled Delhi University entrance examinations to be held at various centers across the country.
Before setting up Gram Niyojan Kendra, Dr. Mukherjee worked as a research associate with Gandhi Peace Foundation a leading national level Gandhian organisation. Since 1977, Dr. Mukherjee has committed herself fully to the growth and development of Gram Niyojan Kendra. As Secretary-cum-Executive Director she has been responsible for planning and implementation of all activities at the Kendra. Dr. Mukherjee has been the lead researcher on all research studies on Trafficking of Women and girls, undertaken by GNK.
She has served as a Member of the State Social Welfare Advisory Board, Government of Uttar Pradesh and was felicitated as the “Woman Social Worker” in 2002 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Mukherjee completed her PHD in Social Work from Jamia Milia Islamia and did her MSW from Delhi School of Social Work.
Dr. Madhuri has worked in leadership roles across diverse organisations. Currently working as the Country Director of UW International Training and Education Centre for Health, an affiliated partner of University of Washington, Seattle US. Madhuri has worked with organisations such as Room to Read Asia Regional Office, Oxfam, Child Fund and Save the Children, in various capacities at both national and regional level.
Dr. Madhuri is also serving on the board and advisory committee of various organisations, such as UW International Training and Education Centre for Health Private Ltd., CFARHS Foundation and Landesa Foundations for Innovations in Development.
Dr. Madhuri has a doctorate in Development Communication from Department of Sociology, Jamia Millia Islamia.
Mrs. Kulwant Kour joined Gram Niyojan Kendra in 1983 as an Instructor of a vocational training centre for women, specialising in stitching and tailoring. Mrs. Kulwant Kour expanded the vocational training programme and set up the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development at the Kendra. This centre trains girls and women from rural areas and urban slums in various vocational skills and helps them to earn a living through these skills. Till date, Kulwant ji has directly trained nearly 22000 girls and women in various vocations. All vocational initiatives undertaken by the Kendra have been under the leadership of Kulwant ji.
Mrs. Kulwant Kaur did her Masters in Political Science from Meerut University.
