Gram Niyojan Kendra is a national level organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for women and children from the marginalized communities. Started in 1977, Gram Niyojan Kendra has implemented comprehensive community development interventions across various states in the country. Gram Niyojan Kendra is presently working in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh based at Ghaziabad and West Bengal.
Over the years, we have achieved a milestones in different sectors including:
Kendra has mobilized nearly 20000 youth in last five years through its various interventions.
Currently 2000 children and youth are directly associated with our interventions.
5000 women have received skill training at Kendra and 60% of these women are continuing to earn their living based on the skills.
200 grass root women leaders have been trained by Kendra and 50% of these women are running their own organizations or actively involved in other governance activities.
Kendra has implemented interventions across 2000 villages spread over 30 districts of Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarkhand.
Kendra has linkages with 500 grassroot level organisations across rural areas who have been trained and supported by Kendra for institutional strengthening.
Kendra has contributed in policy level discussions on issues around trafficking of women and children, child protection and missing children.
