Prof. K.K. Mukherjee

Retired Professor and Head of Department of Social Work, Delhi University; Former Director of Gandhi Bhawan, Delhi University and former member of the Central Advisory Committee on Trafficking set up by Planning Commission of India. Prof Mukherjee is the Founder Member of Gram Niyojan Kendra and is a believer in Gandhian ideology.Prof Mukherjee started his career as a researcher with Gandhi Peace Foundation and was heavily influenced by Gandhian philosophy of equality and development. It was during his days at Gandhi Peace Foundation that the idea of setting up Gram Niyojan Kendra took shape.

As a researcher, author, practitioner and academician, Prof Mukherjee is very highly regarded in the development world.

Prof Mukherjee did his initial degree in Personnel Management from Xavier Labour Research Institute Ranchi, followed by MSW and PhD from Delhi School of Social Work. Prof. Mukherjee also did his post doctorate in Social work.
